How much did we Celtics fans hate the LA Lakers back in the day?
This much:
1982 Eastern Conference Finals, Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics-Game 7...
The 76ers are cruising as the Celtics are down by 12 points with 30 seconds left in the game, and it's serious garbage time as the game winds down the final seconds. The crowd at the Boston Garden has realized defeat is upon them, and there will be no Boston team this year in the NBA Finals. But they already know that the LA Lakers will be the team from the West representing in the Finals against the 76ers.
That means there is only one thing left to do.........
Bring it LA.

I'm adding this wonderful youtube gem for posterity...

Oh, and this too. This is how you celebrate a World Championship..

Man, I'm glad I don't live in Canada...
I'm watching Steyn's recent visit to the Canadian tv show "The Agenda with Steve Paikin", and his depressingly fruitless attempts to explain free speech to three Canadian Muslim LAW students of all people and man, I'd be checking the real estate prices in Michigan right now, because you're looking at your future lawyers and judges in this video.
Youtube has them, part's 1-7.
It's very uncomfortable to watch law students from any country or background be so flippant about the rights of free speech, as if the word "Law" itself has been mangled. The idea that you can now sue someone because you're "offended" is pretty freaking stupid.
It'g getting even worse when some of the people who are offended get so offended that they blow up and kill people. That's a problem.
Update: Kathy Shaidle at PajamasMedia has a more in depth analysis of the show, including a reference to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunals 100% conviction rate on hate crime issues.

While The Left Discovers Another Way To Crucify George W. Bush
-he lets loose with another quotation that will stand the test of history.
And for all you Obama fans, he wasn't talking about the presidential candidates. He was talking about the same war that is still going on today, just like when he said this-
"I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!"
And hear us they did. It used to be Israel was the only democratic nation in the middle east.
They may soon have some welcomed competition...

Happy Yom Ha'atzmaut!
I think that's the right way to say it, but I'm not Jewish nor fluent in Hebrew so cut me some slack.
We here at Tman in Tennessee are big supporters of Israel and on this day we wish them a Happy Yom Ha'atzmaut!
Quote from Charles Krauthammer - The Weekly Standard, May 11, 1998
"Israel is the very embodiment of Jewish continuity: It is the only nation on earth that inhabits the same land, bears the same name, speaks the same language, and worships the same God that it did 3,000 years ago. You dig the soil and you find pottery from Davidic times, coins from Bar Kokhba, and 2,000-year-old scrolls written in a script remarkably like the one that today advertises ice cream at the corner candy store."
