Team America- F*** Yeah!!!!.............

......

I finally got to see Team America:World Police this weekend, the latest from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of the always entertaining Southpark.

Here's the brief review: Marionette Puppets- blowing stuff up, dealing with complex relationships, attempting/thwarting terrorist attacks, disco dancing, drinking cocktails, and generally mocking just about every aspect of our current American film culture. And then the puppet sex. That scene alone was worth the price of admission. They could probably make an instructional video for couples out of that scene, I don't remember a movie where there were that many positions attempted. Needless to say, I was in tears from laughing at this movie. Trey and Matt do the majority of the voices, and leave few hypocritical stones unturned.

Without giving too much away, the movie hinges on the attempts of Kim Jong-il to supply Islamic terrorists with WMD's to blow up the world and cause havoc. "Team America" is your standard "secret US special ops" that fly around the world killing terrorists. So they miss a terrorist here or there and blow up, say, the Louvre for instance. No big whoop, right? Right.

If you are easily offended, do not see this movie. If you despise the hypocrisy of hollywood actors acting like they are world leaders, see this movie. Trey and Matt show both sides of the war on terror, one side showing how we must act to stop terrorists and their sponsors, yet on the other side showing that we cannot kill everyone else and destroy their countries in the process. Exactly what many people my age are feeling.

I don't want to give too much else away, just go see the movie. Worth it for the puppet sex alone.
